FESS Sinus Surgery Treatment
FESS or Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is considered as the less invasive way to treat a chronic sinus infection. This is done by inserting a thin tube in your nostrils that goes up to your sinuses. At the end of the tube is a tiny camera and light that precisely determines the location of the part needs operation. FESS is less risky and the recovery time for the procedure is lesser compared to other methods of sinus surgery.
There are three known FESS procedure, they are; ethmoidectomy, maxillary antrostomy and powered septoplasty with turbinoplasty. A common FESS procedure involves one of these three types of FESS. Depending on the type of infection or the signs displayed the patient, a surgeon may choose to use any of these three FESS methods.
