I've Been Busy.

Hello.  I made things this month.  See?

This is my velveteen, disappearing nine-patch quilt.  It's soft and velvety and so help me, I will never sew with velveteen again!!

This is a bloody enormous house square that's part of a quilt my MiL and I are sewing together. We're each sewing a block a month and then trading the blocks, so I'll have the blocks she's sewn and vice versa.

These are some peach danish I made the other day b/c I had both puff pastry and peaches going spare. They were delicious!!

FInally, here's a picture of my neighbors house at night.  I just really liked how creepy the place looks, so I've been stalking their house for creep-tastic night pics.  I'm sure they think I'm some sort of serial killer.  I do live in the heart of suburbia, so it's to be expected.  This one was taken on the 4th of July (obviously).

Clapotis Progress and My Awesome Digital Camera

Well I would love to show you all my awesome progress on the Silk Garden Clapotis by my ancient digital camera (which when purchased in 2001 was only a better, low-end model) has finally decided to start dying on me.  The digital death was in the works for some time.  There were signs.  Battery life was practically non-existent, sometimes photos would just cease to exist....yes, there were signs.  But, I think this is proof that the end is near.  Here is my Clapotis photo:

It looks ok when its only 200 pixels across but if you click on it for detail, you'll see what I mean.  My camera needs glasses.  But at least you can get the idea of the clap.

Undergarments (and other naughty things) In The Park

My friend Mary has started a photo collection on Flickr about what she finds on her hikes through a Long Island, NY park.  While I am saddened and dismayed at the apparent state of our parks system, I am also strangely drawn to these pictures.  They leave me with so many questions.  My cynical side immediately wonders about the rape rate on Long Island.  My optimistic side thinks about all of the people out there in the Long Island park system who just had to get it on right now!  Or had to get those damn pantyhose off immediately!  And I guess we can't forget the sex workers.  Oh, the sex workers!

Its much like the age old conundrum about the shoe on the side of the road. Yes, where is always important, but why is even more interesting.

Hopefully, this will be an ongoing series for her.  I believe she has made the collection a public group and will accept submissions.  Check them out for yourself.
